The Latest on the Lowes

We started this blog to share the transformation of our 1926 fixer...but with time and the addition of kids it has become my way of documenting two childhoods...the triumphs, moments of hilarity, lessons learned and everything in between.

Lily is 8 weeks old!

Or at least she will be tomorrow. To celebrate we saw Dr. Shannon today and learned that our wee lass is in the 25th percentile across the board - height, weight and head size - making her "perfectly proportionate" at 21.5" and 9 pounds, 7 ounces. She also got her first vaccinations and I think Chris will have to take her for the next round. Though she recovered quickly, the wails and crocodile tears where almost more than I could take. In a bid for solidarity I got a flu shot, but she didn't seem convinced that we were even. I snapped this one while we were getting ready to go...perhaps she looks so serious knowing what's ahead?

Lily is officially a Lowe!!

Today was an amazing day. Not only is Seattle blanketed in snow and looking lovely, but our daughter is now officially ours. Yep, Chris and I went to the courthouse and met with the judge and Lily is now a Lowe! The wonderful Katie Trombley accompanied us so that the moment could be captured on film. Here we are with the judge, a very sweet man who I knew I would like when I saw a copy of "Oh, The Places You'll Go!" by Dr. Suess on his shelf.

A few more shots from the day...the drive to the Snohomish courthouse, Katie and Chris at our celebratory lunch (Mexican, of course!) and Lily, looking rather blase about the whole thing.
