The Latest on the Lowes

We started this blog to share the transformation of our 1926 fixer...but with time and the addition of kids it has become my way of documenting two childhoods...the triumphs, moments of hilarity, lessons learned and everything in between.

Random Cuteness

I know all parents say this, but our girl truly does have a winning personality and a boat-load of character. In addition to her overwhelming love of snow, she has discovered her inner diva and now loves to have her nails painted. Yep, that's right, Lily is addicted to manicures. Whenever the bathroom closet is open, she'll push her way in there, rifle through the bottles, produce the color du jour, and present her little hands for adornment. She actually sits VERY still while the color goes on, after which she sticks out her feet and demands her toes get painted next. This is also the same little girl who insists on picking up a piece of gravel each and every time we get out of the car, who is giddy with excitement going to the hardware store with daddy, who swings from the arm of the treadmill, who is increasingly daring on the playground and who would rather run than walk everywhere - even if it is just from one room to the next. I think she is becoming the perfect mix of girly-girl and rough-n-tumble-tomboy. And of course she continues to hit milestones big and small and develop all the quirks we find so precious, like hooking one little finger on the top of her sippy cup - an affectation that reminds me of sticking one pinky out to drink tea.

I want to say thank you as well to the people who've told me how much they enjoy reading our blog - for a while I considered deleting it because of a certain negative nelly...but in the past weeks I've realized that there are far, far more wonderful, supportive people out there who do appreciate the effort and like to read about our Princess Pie. To all of you who have voiced your support, whether on the phone, in email or by posting a comment, I say THANK YOU. And yes, I will keep posting and be better about doing it more often :)
