The Latest on the Lowes

We started this blog to share the transformation of our 1926 fixer...but with time and the addition of kids it has become my way of documenting two childhoods...the triumphs, moments of hilarity, lessons learned and everything in between.

Happy Solstice!

Summer Solstice in Seattle is always a spectacle thanks to the annual parade in Fremont. Over the past 4 years the tradition has become brunch at the Trombley's then hoofing it down the hill to see the madness. This year was no exception with Tom and Katie treating the three of us, Dave & Jane, Simpkins and the other John to a truly scrumptious brunch followed by the usual naked cyclists, belly dancers, politically incorrect floats, etc etc. Jane kindly shared her pics with me and I have to say she is far better at capturing my child than I am. Her Lily pics are fantastic and their captions cracked me up:

"I Tink Derefore I am"

"They're naked!"

And of course the requisite Uncle Tom pic as well as one of me and Chris. Makes me realize how rare pics of just the two of us are these days...but with a kid this cute wouldn't you prefer her be the star?!
