The Latest on the Lowes

We started this blog to share the transformation of our 1926 fixer...but with time and the addition of kids it has become my way of documenting two childhoods...the triumphs, moments of hilarity, lessons learned and everything in between.

7 (YAWN) months today....

Wow….7 months…I can hardly believe it! When I look at her newborn pictures it seems like a lifetime ago and at the same time I find it unfathomable that so much time as passed so quickly. As always, lots of neat new developments to report:
- Greetings!! When I pick her up from daycare I walk in and say her name. She now looks up and gives me a huge grin hello. This is hands-down the best part of my day.
- Babbling, babbling, babbling. She does this more and more and is adding all kinds of sounds including "Mama". I'm not convinced she knows that Mama is a name for me and isn't just another vocalization, but I *love* hearing it anyway.
- Strangers. She's realized that there are new people and people she already knows. The ones she knows get smiles, the new ones now get VERY INTENSE stares, often followed by a smile and occasionally accompanied by tears (as was the case with Chris' boss!)
- Giggles, v2. Her laugh has been a breathy huh-huh-huh….but now she has started to add in delighted little squeals. They aren't too frequent, but they are absolutely gorgeous to hear.
- Crawling? She's closer and closer…it looks like she's trying to swim on the ground at times.
- Toe sucker! Her fascination with her feet has grown to toe-sucking at every opportunity. Usually these opportunities coincide with my changing her into pjs, getting ready for a bath, changing a diaper. It makes life interesting for sure.
