The Latest on the Lowes

We started this blog to share the transformation of our 1926 fixer...but with time and the addition of kids it has become my way of documenting two childhoods...the triumphs, moments of hilarity, lessons learned and everything in between.

A belated Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas to all! Lily went and met the fat man on the 23rd...she was an angel and slept in her stroller while mom and dad waited in line for a whopping hour and 45 minutes. Of course when it was her turn, she immediately spit up. We ditched that picture to Chris' dismay and kept this one.

Our trip to Phoenix went well - she was a trooper on both flights and didn't cry once...not even when I subjected her to an in-flight diaper change while balanced on my lap. As Paula predicted, she was the star of the holiday and had her great-grandparents utterly charmed. Great-Grandpa Lowe declared over and over that she is "the prettiest baby I've ever seen" and Great-Grandma Lowe, Great-Aunt Adrienne and Uncle Sean all agreed. Of course her sweetness came through in equal measure. Her gifts to us were her frequent smiles, the beginnings of her laugh, and the comical ways she is discovering what her hands are for: batting at toys, holding on to her bink, thumb n' finger sucking. She also just stares at them sometimes, utterly fascinated, while other times she plays with her fingers, looking a little like a cartoon villain plotting a dastardly deed. Yes, we continue to be amazed and amused...can't wait to see what the new year brings!
