The Latest on the Lowes

We started this blog to share the transformation of our 1926 fixer...but with time and the addition of kids it has become my way of documenting two childhoods...the triumphs, moments of hilarity, lessons learned and everything in between.

Lily is 5 months old!

Lily will be 5 months old tomorrow and while I never thought it possible, I am even more amazed by her than when we first brought her home. She is so incredibly beautiful and sweet - always generous with her gorgeous smiles continually winning people over with her easy going nature. She's now a whopping 16 pounds and has started eating solid food. Well, actually, she is trying out rice cereal which isn't exactly solid food, but she seems to dig it.

She also now LOVES to stand up - which means we spend a lot of time holding her up on our laps or playing with her in either her megasaucer, jump n' go or tot rider. For a while we wondered if having all this stuff was overkill, but now we're glad we have them she loves being upright and is fascinated by all the activities. It's truly amazing how long things colorful things can hold an baby's attention!

Her other favorite activity? Blowing raspberries. About two weeks ago she discovered blowing out makes a fun fart sound and now she's obsessed with it. I'm sure people think I'm a total freak - we'll sit and blow raspberries at each other for a good 10 minutes straight. It makes her laugh, though, so of course I play along...how could I not when she looks this funny and adorable??
