The Latest on the Lowes

We started this blog to share the transformation of our 1926 fixer...but with time and the addition of kids it has become my way of documenting two childhoods...the triumphs, moments of hilarity, lessons learned and everything in between.

Spring forward, indeed

Spring has sprung in more ways that one. In addition to gorgeous bulbs and cherry blossoms, Lily has decided to leapfrog forward and embrace Spring with a whole new repetoire. In just the past 2 weeks she has....
...started asking "why?" several times a day. Usually there is no more than one follow-up "why" followed by "Oh, I get it!"
...become a pirate whenever she doesn't get her way. It goes something like this: I say "Lily, please don't touch that." She responds with "ARRRRRRR!" This happens maybe 4 - 5x/day, which is admittedly pretty funny.
...started remembering books. Chris took her to the library the other day and got her a whole new set of books for bedtime reading. To the best of our knowledge, she had never read any of them, but by day 2 she was telling us the endings of the books we had read to her the night before. Needless to say we were quite impressed.
...been drawing circles with both hands. This may not seem impressive, but think about the scribbles of 2-year-olds - how often do you see an ambidextrous one who draws pretty decent circles?
...developed quite the memory. Used to be we could count on "out of sight, out of mind." Yeah, those days are officially gone as she remembers EVERYTHING, from one day to the next, whether it is where a coveted toy is or a song she heard at school.

I know I've said it before, but this child really does amaze us!
